Katherine Luz Evans

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Katherine Luz Evans on June 18th, 2026 at the age of 52. She was born at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, a city she loved dearly. Katherine filled our lives with lots of love from the moment she was born.

Katherine graduated from Robinson High School in Tampa, Florida, where she was Homecoming queen. She then moved on to a career in fashion for 30+ years, her final position being 10 years spent at Chico’s in Brandon, Florida.

Katherine’s pride and joy was her son, Taylor Owen Evans whom she loved dearly.

Katherine helped create a running community called “I Love to Run” that has surpassed 30,000 members around the world.

Katherine is survived by her mother Maria V Perez, her brother Angel (Mariann) Perez, her sister & best friend Anna (Frank) Winter, her brother John (Jamie) Perez, her nieces Brooklyn Winter & Isabella Perez, and her nephew & Godson Maxx Winter. Katherine was preceded in death by her father Jesus A Perez.

Katherine is loved immensely and will be missed by all who have been blessed to know her.

Katherine’s Celebration of Life will be held at Blount & Curry Life Event Center, 605 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, on June 27th beginning at 10:00am. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00am and the family invites you to join them for refreshments until 2:00pm.
