Larry Joseph Gispert

Larry Joseph Gispert, 77, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026. Larry was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother, and loyal friend. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Gispert; his daughter, Danielle Gispert; and his brothers, Gilbert Gispert, Tony Gispert, and Joseph Gispert Jr.

Larry proudly served his country as a member of the United States Coast Guard, where he demonstrated the same dedication to service and duty that would define the rest of his life. Following his military service, he devoted his professional career to serving the people of Hillsborough County as Director of Emergency Management. Through his leadership and commitment to public safety, he helped protect and prepare the community during times of crisis. His work reflected his deep sense of responsibility, integrity, and service to others.

Committed to lifelong learning, Larry earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tampa, graduating with the Class of 1996. His determination to further his education exemplified his belief that it is never too late to pursue personal and professional growth.

Outside of work, Larry was an avid amateur radio operator who appreciated the friendships and connections the hobby brought him. He was also a devoted Tampa Bay Rays fan and looked forward to cheering on his favorite team each season.

Larry will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, his distinguished military and public service, and his quiet strength.

He will be deeply missed.
