Lois Lee Porter

Lois Lee gave her life to Christ; with an unwavering belief, her love for the Lord and quiet strength inspired everyone around her. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church where she found joy in fellowship and serving her church community.

Lois Lee was a lady of elegance, kindness, and perseverance. She dedicated her life to her family, always there with a warm embrace. An avid enthusiast of life's finer pleasures, Lois Lee would often be found perfecting her swing at Rio Pinar or Stoneybrook golf course with the ladies, mastering a hand of bridge with close friends, or hunting for hidden treasures at local antique shops.

Lois Lee was a dedicated lifelong member of the Delta Zeta sorority. Her sorority sisters were a constant source of joy, laughter, and support throughout her entire life. A proud graduate of Florida State University, Class of 1952, she specialized in education and taught children for 44 years. She lived for FSU football season, never missing a chance to do the Tomahawk Chop from her favorite living room chair. She carried the Garnet and Gold in her heart wherever she went.

Lois Lee is survived by her son, Edward P. Porter; her daughter-in-law, Melissa Porter (wife of her late son, Samuel R. Porter, Jr.); her grandson, Samuel R. Porter, III, and his wife, Hannah D. Porter; her grandson, Chase E. Porter; and two great-grandchildren, Evelyn J. Porter and Ezra R. Porter.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel R. Porter, Sr. and her dear son, Samuel R. Porter, Jr.

A visitation will be held on October 19, 2026 at 9:30 am at Blount and Curry Funeral Home Oldsmar West Hillsborough Chapel , 6802 Silvermill Dr., Tampa FL 33635 with funeral services beginning at 10:30AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at Florida National Cemetery , 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL.
