Lorette built her life in Waterbury, Connecticut, before making Tampa, Florida, her home. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, J. Robert (“Bob”) Gagne, and her siblings: Irene Caouette, Alice (Caouette) Perazelli, Edouard Caouette, Joseph Caouette, Doris (Caouette) Delage, and George Caouette. She is survived by her loving children, Gregg Gagne and Beth Gagne, as well as her cherished “adopted” daughter, Sharon Goetz.
After the loss of her husband, Lorette faced life’s challenges with remarkable strength, resilience, and determination. She embraced a fulfilling new chapter, dedicating countless hours as a volunteer at Florida Hospital, where she generously served others until the age of 90. Her compassion, kindness, and unwavering commitment touched the lives of patients, families, and fellow volunteers alike.
Lorette lived life with enthusiasm and positivity. She enjoyed worldwide travel with her children, creating decadent desserts, spending time on the golf course, playing cards with family and friends, and sharing laughter over an occasional Scotch. She treasured the many friendships she made throughout her life and will be remembered for her warm spirit, generous heart, and enduring love for her family.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Church, September 28, 2026, 10AM followed by a Reception from 11:00AM-12:30PM. Lorette will be laid to rest privately next to her husband at Florida National Cemetery, located in Bushnell, Florida.
