Mamie Aponte, 74, of New Port Richey, Florida (formerly New York) passed away August 6, 2016. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Jose; daughters, Star-Maria Brooks of Hawaii and Miashillene Aponte of Oldsmar; granddaughter, Starcresent “Special” Aponte of Boca Raton; brothers, Alfred Hoe Sr. and Reginald Hoe; sister, Virginia Hoe; Mother-in-Law, Carmen Lydia Quinones; Son-In-Law Lt. Col Michael L. Brooks; along with numerous extended family members and countless friends. Born and raised in New York City, Mamie has been a Tampa Bay area resident since this past June. Family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 and Homegoing Service will be held at 10am on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Blount & Curry Funeral Homes, Oldsmar/West Hillsborough Chapel, 6802 Silvermill Dr., Tampa. Burial Service will follow at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
