I recall going to Tampa and spending time over at Marias. She had the nicest house complete with a pool and dock. I would spend some summer days as my mom would talk to her and the family all day. Fast forward 25 years we would still continue that tradition. I'm so glad to have had her accept our family into hers. She was always the funniest lady in the room. Because of her i would get to experience some true spanish cultural events in the Tampa area while living in the US. Maybe this helped contribute to my decision to move to Spain later. I'm sure where she is at now there are others smiling and laughing thanks to her sense of humor and amount of love she always gave to others. You will be missed but never forgotten

My mother Maria taught me so much in life, good times or bad times she was the most giving and kind person and to know her was to love her. I could go on and on but one memory I would like to share is the time my own mother was having emergency open heart surgery and my husband was away at his job so I was alone there at the hospital. I called my mother in-law and father in-law and they were so loving and kept reassuring me that my mom would be ok. we didn't have cell phones at that time so that call was long distance and they stayed on the phone with me until they took my mother to recovery. They prayed with me and stayed with me & that meant the world to me <3 I'm Thankful for the multiple memories I have and I am Thankful that she brought my husband Jesus Smith into this world because he is my life . I am very grateful for the loving support she gave to me. I will miss you forever mama. Fly high beautiful oxox
