It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marjorie Brown (Marge), a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who peacefully departed this life on November 30 at the age of 92.
Born on May 6, 1932 in Albany NY, Marge lived a long and fulfilling life marked by resilience, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. Born in Albany New York, Marge moved to Palatine Bridge / Canajoharie New York area in the mid 1940’s, marrying Gerald Brown in 1952. She left New York State in 1974 for Tampa Florida. Marge met he life partner James Hamilton in 1979.
Marge was a woman of great strength and grace. She dedicated her life to bringing communities, neighborhoods, and friends together. Her passion for her church was evident in everything she did, and she leaves behind a legacy of compassion, generosity, wisdom, and humor.
A cornerstone of her family, Marge is remembered for the warmth of her home, her delicious breakfast fruit dish, Christmas Roast Beef, her crunchy vegetables, and her ability to make everyone feel loved and valued. She found her greatest joy in the company of her familial and non-familial children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the stories, lessons, and laughter she shared.
Marge is survived by her life partner James Hamilton, sons David (Ileana), Jimmy Hamilton (Marian), Mark Hamilton (Jeff Nunn), grand-children Jasen (Pamela), Heather (Jordan), Ryan (Autumn), great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Jasen Jr., Aria, Rubi, and Leo, and extended family Danielle Chiruck (Steve, Nicholas, Robert). She was preceded in death by Edward Davis (Ethel), Tom Davis (Jackie), Jack Davis (Barbara), Gerald Brown, Garland Brown, Nora Satterlee, Pebbles and Shadow.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to James Hamilton and family, The Newell Family, Pruitt Family, and the Charleston Corner community for the relationships with Marge and the individuals who accompanied her in her later years.
A celebration of Marjorie Brown’s life will be held on December 21, 2024 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. 6100 Memorial Highway Tampa FL 33615, with services beginning at 1:00pm with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. 6100 Memorial Highway Tampa FL 33615.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Marjorie’s love and light will continue to guide us. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
