

1926 in St. Petersburg, FL; the third child of Roy L. & Frances B. (Speck) Miller. A graduate of St. Petersburg High School, Martin served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. during WWII and then began a career at General Telephone Company that spanned 42 years.
Known as "Marty" or "M.P." to his family & friends, he was pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Marjorie Beatty Miller & is survived by two daughters: Phyllis A. Miller, Tampa, FL & Patricia A. Talty (Thomas); four grandchildren: Katherine C. Talty, Rebecca M. McRae (Nick), Joseph H. Talty & Keely E. Talty & one great-grandchild, Logan C. McRae, all of Birmingham, AL plus many nieces and nephews.
M.P. was active all of his life, especially with organizations that involved his love of history, genealogy, trains & streetcars. He was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers & Independent Telephone Pioneers of America, member & past President of the Tampa Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, member of the Tampa Bay Civil War Round Table, Director in the Tampa & Ybor City Street Railway Society, & Director in the Tampa Streetcar Preservation & Restoration, Inc., among many others.
A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 2 to 3PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home with memorial services beginning at 3PM. Arrangements under the direction of Gonzalez Funeral Home, Tampa, FL.
