Mary B. Ashworth passed away January 20, 2025. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Rev. Leroy C. Ashworth, son Alan, daughter-in-law Anna and four grandchildren (Caitlin, Jonathan, Nathan and Jillian). Mary was born in Martinsville, Virginia, the youngest of six children of George and Minnie Brown. She received a B.A. degree from Lynchburg College and a Master of Education degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mary enjoyed a long teaching career in Virginia with many years at Henry Clay Elementary School in Ashland. She was a lifelong member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and during the 25 years that her husband was the minister of Independence Christian Church she was involved in many church activities. In 2007, Mary and Leroy moved to Tampa Florida to join their son and grandchildren.
