Mary Agnes Sultenfuss

SULTENFUSS, Mary Agnes Scott of Tampa went to be with the Lord on September 27, 2017 at the age of 97. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family. She was born to the late Edward M. and Mary Agnes (Christ) on September 13, 1920. Agnes was first and foremost a woman who dedicated her life to her family. She lovingly and passionately raised not only her own children, but also was a great inspiration to her grandchildren and great grandchildren . A devout catholic, avid gardener, eager reader, and lover of history, she was valedictorian of Sacred Heart Academy’s first graduating class and remained a self-taught student all her life. She was an incredibly gifted woman who will be remembered for her kindness, devotion to her family, and cultivation of lifelong relationships.

Agnes was preceded in death by her brothers Edward F. and Robert Scott, as well as three grandchildren; John, Michael, and Richard. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 70 years John Sultenfuss Sr; children John Sultenfuss Jr (Maria), Michael Sultenfuss (Ewa), Thomas Sultenfuss (Sherry), Richard Sultenfuss (Mary Beth), and Judy Archer (Michael); ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 1 from 4-8pm at Gonzalez Funeral Home at 7209 N. Dale Mabry Hwy. Funeral services will take place Monday, October 2 at 2pm at Christ the King Catholic Church, 821 S. Dale Mabry Hwy. Agnes will then be laid to rest at the Garden of Memories at Myrtle Hill.
