Michael Thomas Cavanaugh

Michael Thomas Cavanaugh, 84, passed away on October 21, 2026. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, Michael served in the United States Air Force and lived a life filled with family, curiosity, and a love of learning.

Known by his family as a walking Encyclopaedia Britannica, Michael had an incredible wealth of knowledge and always seemed to have an answer to any question. He enjoyed building model airplanes, spending time at the fishing cabin, and, most of all, making memories with his four grandchildren, whom he adored.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Cavanaugh; his daughter, Melissa Brenman, and her husband, Danny, and their sons, Parker and Ryder; and his son, Bradford Cavanaugh, and his wife, Serene, and their children, Bryce and Henley.

Michael will be remembered for his remarkable mind, his love for his family, and the memories he leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Bastet Senior Cat Home, where Michael’s beloved cats, Tessa and TC, are currently being cared for.
