Born and raised in Daytona Beach, Florida, Michael was known by many names to the people who loved him most. To his sister Erin he was “Mikey Mike,” to his nephew he was “Muncle,” his mother lovingly called him “Kiddo,” and to his children he was simply “Dad.”
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army and later dedicated part of his life to serving his community as a firefighter. He was a quiet and thoughtful person to the outside world, but those who truly knew him saw his humor and fun-loving personality. Beneath his quiet nature was a kind soul with a truly big heart.
Growing up, his mother affectionately called her children “Tigger and Eeyore,” a nickname that always reflected Michael’s gentle and thoughtful nature.
More than anything, Michael loved his family. His daughter Mallory and son Jackson were the greatest part of his life.
Michael is survived by his mother, Debbie King Ruck and her husband Joseph Ruck; his sister, Erin McKinnon; his daughter, Mallory; and his son, Jackson. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Michaud.
