Miguel Gomez Ulloa, 83, of Tampa, FL, passed away on September 20,2026. Miguel was born to Avelino Gomez and Virginia Ulloa on May 3, 1943, in Ciego De Avila, Cuba. He was one of 10 siblings and one of the first to move to the United States for a better life. He was always willing to do any odd job to support his family, from being a plumber to a mechanic to a baker to a custodian and did these jobs with pride. He loved to take things apart and put them back together. He loved to plant trees all over the neighborhood and was always outdoors doing something or helping someone, without expecting anything in return. He would do the silliest things to make everyone around him laugh and he always had a huge smile on his face. He never took anything too serious and was always the first person everyone would call for help, no matter the time or the person, he would go out of his way to help anyone, even strangers. Most of all he loved his family, his wife, children and especially his granddaughters were his world, and he made sure to always be there and protect them. Papi Miguel will forever be missed by all who knew him and remembered for his kindness, great sense of humor, and his loud distinct whistle that would call to you from across any crowded place.
He is survived by his wife, Blanca M Gomez, his daughters Twiggy (Paul), Peggy, his granddaughters Sasha, Samantha, and Sharlize, and two brothers and a sister. He is preceded in death by his parents, and 6 of his siblings.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, Florida 33614.
