Miriam Davidow Miller passed away on April 15, 2018 at the age of 92 in Tampa, Florida. She was born on October 2, 1925 in Marks, Mississippi, to Lena and Samuel Davidow. She was preceded in death by her husband, Seymour Miller and her brother, Daniel Davidow. She is survived by her four sons and their wives: Steven (Teri) Miller, Jan (Sharon) Miller, Lynn (Claire) Miller, Michael (Renee) Miller, and sister-in-law Pearl Davidow along with grandchildren: Kimberly Southworth, Bill Southworth, Shannon Miller Seletos (Josh Seletos), Joshua Miller (Alex Post, his fiancé), Samuel Miller (Alexa Levy) and great-grandchildren: Zoey Parsons, Elliot Warrenton, Hannaha Jones, Brianna Southworth, Kayleigh Southworth, Stephanie Southworth, and Caitlyn Seletos.
Miriam graduated from the University of Alabama. She was instrumental in the development of the library at Leslie Bell Elementary School in Lexington, Missouri. Miriam was Worthy Matron of Eastern Star Lexington Chapter #248. She was a past President of the Sisterhood at Temple Beth Israel on Long Boat Key, Florida where she also served as their librarian for many years.
She always displayed a quiet reserved competence with a devotion to learning and the arts.
Miriam was particularly fond of butterflies, books, and flowers, especially roses. She was a lifelong golfer.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Sunday, April 22 at New Montefiore Cemetery in Pinelawn, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Masonic Home of Missouri, 6033 Masonic Drive, Suite A, Columbia, MO 65202.
