Nakhoul, My Idol
The Prince, as Mum always called you.
During my childhood and adolescence, you were my idol, my hero, my prince—my elder brother and my bond.
After the passing of our dear father, Nassim, you became more than just my brother; you became my Bro/Pap, stepping into his shoes with love and strength.
I don’t know how to describe what I feel right now—sad, heartbroken, empty? Or perhaps a small sense of relief, knowing you are now in a better place, free from pain.
My dear Bro/Pap, you endured so much in this life, especially during your last days and you deserve peace. Rest in peace, my beloved brother. You will always be missed.
I feel your presence around me—you’ve become my angel.
I love you, and I will miss your voice, your laughter, and your presence, every single day. Until we meet again. 💔💔💔

I look for you in all of the things you loved… that is where I find you. I will forever search for moments of you… in the things that you loved, in the places that you went, and in all the beautiful things that still remain. Honoring you, even in your absence, is my way of keeping you alive. Your memory will always live on in the countless ways you have touched my heart and soul. You are gone, but your light shines within me. It always seems to guide me through the darkest days of grief. I’ll spend a lifetime remembering you.

In the end, it all comes down to this: I thought I had more time to love you.  And sometimes it’s loss that truly makes us understand how much we loved. I count myself lucky to have had someone in my life that is worth grieving for. If I could have done it all again, I would have loved you better. But I could not have loved you more. 
Somewhere between hello and goodbye, there was love, so much love. 

Promise me that you will visit me on the nights when I cannot see the stars.

It’s hard to turn the page when you know someone won’t be in the next chapter, but the story must go on? The world just kept turning, I never forgave it for that. There are losses that rearrange the world. Deaths that change the way you see everything, grief that tears everything down. Pain that transports you to an entirely different universe. Grief is a nasty game of feeling the weakest you have ever felt and morphing it into the strongest person you will need to become. 

Even though I know you are gone, I fear I still have to accept that you will never return. When I lost you, I lost a part of me too. You left a hole in me no one will ever be able to fill, because it will always belong to you. 

The day your soul left this earth, was the day mine did too. My heart no longer beats the same. My eyes no longer see the same. My mind no longer thinks the same. While I am physically here, my soul is with yours. Bound together in the stars. I will cherish our unbreakable bond for all of my life. 

It feels like I’ve missed you for forever now… but the reality is- this is just the beginning of a lifetime of missing you. 
I miss the sound of your voice, the stories you told, the ring of your laugh, and your presence that glowed. So yes, time changes nothing because I miss you as much today as I did the day that you left. There are so many things I have wanted to tell you, and my heart breaks every time because I can’t. 

On my silent days, I miss you a little louder. I miss you in ways that not even words can understand. A thousand moments I had taken for granted, mostly because I assumed there would be a thousand more. There were a million things I wanted to say to you, ‘goodbye’ was not one of them. Our time together was never enough, but we’ll love again in a place where time doesn’t exist.
