I first meet my mom (that I could remember) at the age of 15 in Chicago it was a little strange to see my mom and my sisters and brothers for the first time. It's a long story that even now I get confused but I'll try to keep it short. I grew to really love my mom it took some time to sort things out and she was very patent with me. When she had me it was a time where women really had a hard time if they were trying to raise kids by themselves so she knew she couldn't do right by me so she let my uncle raise me and when she got on her feet she was going to send for me, I know she did try cause I remember when I was about 6 I seen a news paper clipping it was in Spanish I didn't know what it said but I did see my name and I asked my other mom about it and I don't remember what she said but I never seen that again, they were not bad people they loved me and I could imagine the fear they had to send me to my mom after they raised me that bond was there. My mom did the right thing even though it was a hard thing to do I know now that it was because she loved me. We had some really good times she loved to sing, dance always happy, laughing, smiling, she was awesome I guess I was lucky I had 2 moms and 2 dads that loved me and I was able to come to a place to accept that. Thank you mom, I know you knew I was there, you waited for me to be there you held my hand and I made you laugh one last time, I won't forget that. You were only about 4'11 (maybe) but your heart was bigger than anybody I know. R.I.P. mom until we meet again.

My mother is by far the strongest woman that I know. As petite as she was, that's how tough she was. She always worked so hard to make sure we all had what we needed and sometimes that meant more than one job at a time. On the days that she was home, the smell of her coffee brewing, eggs cooking and her beautiful singing voice was all I needed to get up and join in. She never failed to show us how much we were loved and how important we were to her. Mom, I love you. You taught me how to cook, how to be a lady and to never be ashamed to show love. My mother was under 4'10 but had more energy and "I can do it." Spirit than anyone else I know.   She was liberated before the phrase "women'slib" was coined.  She told us,"if you want it, work for it because  no one can do it for you."  She was a hard working woman and also helped others in need. She loved to sing and dance and did so very well.  She  lived and loved and  she will always  be loved.  She had great pride in  her children.  I will miss her hugs and kisses.  I love you Mami.  Now you are in the presence of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ whole and happy.  We will see you again someday.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
