Nina Russo Herrera, age 95, of Tampa, passed away October 11, 2011. A Native and lifelong resident of Tampa. She was preceded in death by her husband, partner, and soul mate of 66 years, Anibal J. Herrera. She was the "Sunshine" of his life. She is survived by her Daughters; JoAnn Suarez and husband Anthony, Sarah Napolitano and husband Bobby (deceased). Grandchildren; Katrina Noto and husband Anthony, Janine Sennott and husband Eric, and Tony "Sport" Suarez; great grandchildren; A.J. and JoAnn Noto, Nina, Eric and Cole Sennott, and Anthony "T.J." Suarez. Brothers; Joe and Nick Russo, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was the Matriarch of the family. Every Sunday, family and friends would gather at their house for Sunday dinner of pasta and succo. Their door was always open. They welcomed all who entered as family. The family would like to Thank the Staff, Nurses and CNA's of Carrollwood Care for the excellent care she received for the past 5 and a half years. A special "Thank You" to Nilda and Maritza her "angels" on earth. To all the Nurses and CNA's who showered her with so much love and care, you know who you are: "Thank You". Dr. Matt Acton, who is such a kind and caring Doctor, Thank you for everything. Honorary Pallbearer: her son-in-law Anthony Suarez who was a son to her. Pallbearers include: Tony "Sport" Suarez, Anthony Noto, A.J. Noto, Anthony "T.J." Suarez, Eric Sennott and Tony Jimenez. The family will receive friends at the Chapel of Gonzalez Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 15, 2011.
