Norman Drake Smith age 98 passed away in Tampa, Florida on Thursday January 27, 2022. He served in the US Army Air Force in World War II on a B-17, completing 35 missions. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Eileen Kennedy, for 62 years. They raised their two sons in Chicago, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his son, Owen Smith (Maura).
He is survived by his Son Mark Smith (Margaret), four Granddaughters, Alex, Courtney, Lindsay, Jessica; Nephews Eric Smith, Steven Smith, Niece Kim Kennedy, and Grandnephew Matthew Kennedy.
After the Death of his wife, Norman married Eleanor Boylin Nesbit and enjoyed her family and travelling. Norm was the oldest and most beloved resident at Unisen Senior Living.
A memorial service will be held on February 12, 2022 at 11:00AM at Unisen, 12401 N. 22nd St. Tampa, Florida. Arrangements are under the direction of Blount & Curry Funeral Home at MacDill Chapel 605 S. MacDill Ave. Tampa, Florida.
