Born in Puerto Rico, Orly lived a life full of purpose, resilience, and love. He served proudly in the U.S. military and later worked in the financial district near Wall Street. Eventually, he found his passion in craftsmanship, opening his own upholstery business — a place where his hands brought old things back to life.
He was a man who loved the classics — old cars, timeless music, and the kind of stories that sounded like they came from a movie, but were all too real. He often recalled his youth singing on the stoop, bringing to life the warmth and rhythm of a bygone era.
He was a firm yet gentle soul, a man of quiet pride, and soft hands — hands that bore the weight of hard work and still held kindness. He cherished family deeply, especially his wife, Norma, with whom he shared a lifelong love. Her passing marked a turning point in his later years, and now, we find comfort in believing they are together again.
Orly found joy in simple things — puzzles, crosswords, conversations about “how things used to be.” He was proud of the family he built and the people they became.
He is survived by his loving brother and sisters; his children; grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who adored him. He was a steady presence in the lives of many, and his memory will live on in the hands, hearts, and stories of all who knew him.
We will miss his stories, his strength, his laughter, and his love.
Rest in peace, Orly. Reunited with Norma, forever in our hearts.
A visitation for Orlando will be held Sunday, May 25, 2025 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at Blount and Curry Funeral Home Oldsmar West, 6802 Silvermill Drive, Tampa FL 33635.
