Wow. This woman changed my life, saved my life with art and her kindness. I am here today a professional artist,a human being because of her grace. God bless Mrs. Heilig. May she rest in peace and I hope she knows how much she helped me.

There is so much I can say about you Pam. We shared so many beautiful moments together in school and had wonderful laughs together. The times we spent together while I did your hair were the best ones. You slept through the haircuts and I would let you sleep while I tried cutting your hair. One day your head actually fell to your lap and I still didn't want to wake you.  You did so much and gave all your love.  I'am missing you! Wishing I could see you one more time.

I can't imagine how different my life would have been without Mrs. Heilig. She literally added so much color to my childhood, encouraging us to explore and teaching us the value in everyone's art. My thoughts and prayers are with Mark, Mr. Heilig, and the family.

I had the opportunity to meet Pam when my daughter Brittany was in her art class at Dale Mabry Elementary. I remember how much Brittany enjoyed being in her class and what a great personality she had. Just recently I got to see Pam again after many years at the Davis Island dog park-she was there with her good friend Linda whose Dalmatian Tati played with my Dalmatian Alfie. I told Pam how much my daughter enjoyed being in her class and as we talked I found myself really enjoying talking to her and Linda. When Alfie & I left I remember feeling a great sense of happiness in my heart and thinking to myself what a special person Pam was. My sister Karen (an art teacher who also knew Pam)  called to tell me of Pam's transition to Heaven, I was shocked, I am so glad I got to see her that Saturday at the dog park and I feel truly blessed to have known her. Her radiant personality and soul will forever be a part of my happy memories.

I am a very old acquaintance of pam..we had mutual friends after high school..our dear friend linda...pam was always a bundle of fun and when a bunch of us were together it was hard pressed as to whom laughed harder.  So sorry to hear of her passing but so glad to know she has brought so much joy to those she touched. Not surprised at all. I will say prayers that all the great memories you share will be never ending.

Even after all this time, I remember Mrs. Heilig from when she was an art teacher at Hugh R. Jones Elementary School.  She was so full of energy and encouraging to all of ...even we NON-talented art students! My condolences to her family.

Pam made our family gatherings fun and interesting, always sharing great stories and making everyone laugh. She was extremely creative and intelligent, and could make you think as well as laugh. Its hard for us to imagine getting together without her. Pam's kindness, empathy for others, willingness to work hard all the time, and creative spirit will be remembered always. My condolences to the family of Mrs. Heilig. I am a former pottery and photography student. I remember Mrs. Heilig telling us funny stories especially on 1st day of class showing us her mannequin's "high leg" in the classroom. I still have my ceramic pieces I created with her help. If by chance I ever work with pottery again I will distinctively remember her tips and advise to create one of things she loved most "art". May you rest in peace. Mrs. Heilig always made my (our) day brighter when she would come into the main office.  She was a very loving, caring, and always made you laugh as she would tell you stories. She will be missed. "cutie"

Mrs. Heilig was a favorite teacher of both my children at Dale Mabry Elem. I fondly remember how she would display her students' artwork, with her lovely lettering, on the entry windows at Publix, and they would get so excited when one of their paintings was there. She had a talent for making her kids feel special. One sweet memory was when she chose my daughter and one of her classmate friends to go with her for a special event at the Tampa Museum of Art, something to do with promoting art in the schools--she had them dress up as Van Gogh and Picasso, which was so fun!  I frequently heard stories from my kids about how funny she was and how much they loved her class.  Over the years, I would enjoy seeing her up at Publix and she always asked about the kids and told me about her beloved grandchildren. This was someone who touched thousands of people in a positive and enduring way by making them feel cared for and important.  That is a rare and wonderful legacy!  We will always remember her with love.

Pam was a wonderful friend and colleague.  Her sense of humor was amazing.  She always made us laugh.  I loved her nun costume at Halloween.  During the years Mabry had OM teams she was always generous with her supplies, opening that grand barn of hers to our students as they solved their creative problems.  She will be missed.

I had the pleasure to meet Pamela only a few weeks ago at the USF InsideArt workshop and spent the day laughing and talking with her. My wife and I had lunch with her presence made the afternoon fly by. She was so warm and so funny, it was easy to like her. This is such upsetting news.  I want to offer her family my deepest condolences.

Mrs. Heilig I will miss you dearly, I'll miss you coming in the Dr. Office calling me (Cutie) I'm glad that I had a chance to see you before your passing, and to share my story with you about my grand son Major,  thanks for being part of my life for the past five years, it was always a pleasure seeing you when you came to your appointment. Dear Bill, Mark and family,  Bruce and I were devastated to learn of the loss of your beautiful wife and mother today.  Pam was a fantastic art teacher to our two daughters at Dale Mabry elementary, and a most wonderful neighbor during the years we lived in South Tampa. Please accept our deepest, deepest condolences.

Pam, touch my life in many occasion she was friend, teacher with great charism, personality, funny, always helpful, caring, and thoughtful. She will be in my heart forever. My deepest condolence to the family and prayers for this difficult times.

Pam was one of the most compassionate people I have ever met. Few people listen the way she did. To her, words were important, and she took their meaning to heart. I will miss our conversations and hearing her perspective. She saw beauty in the everyday and shared her wonder with everyone around her. I loved Pam's sense of humor. I know she cared about her students and her coworkers. She always took the time to ask me about my girls, and we always shared stories about our families. I will miss the laughs we shared during our lunch break. She will leave behind the memories of a humble spirit and true generosity. The news of her passing hurt my heart, but I smile knowing that she left me with positive memories. Dear Ross, Rob and the Heilig family - Pam was the sweetest sister-in -law anyone could have. She was always funny, positive and had the personality that would make everyone in the room smile along with her.  It was a shock to hear about her passing. I am sure she went straight to heaven and that she will be missed.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Our paths crossed so many times over the years due to the long friendship of our children.  often, she was like a second mother to my son.  She was a dedicated professional who gave so much of her time and energy to the education of children. I considered Pam one of my dearest friends here at Jefferson. We both came here a year apart and our family events seemed to always occur at the same times: children graduating from college, going to law school, weddings, births of grandchildren. I first met Pam years ago at Dale Mabry Elementary where we both taught in the gifted summer program. She taught my daughter and we still have some of the art work Christi produced. I will miss Pam terribly, her jokes, bubbly greetings in the mornings and most of all her hugs and "Love you, you cutie!". She was a dedicated teacher, talented artist and a great friend.

Pam was a truly caring teacher, you could tell from how much passion she had in everything she did for the students.  I will miss the hugs we shared and the imitation game we played together. Jefferson has lost a great teacher but Heaven has gained a great Angel!

I had the privilege of spending four fun filled years at UCA with Pam. She was one of a kind and one person I have never forgotten. She always had a smile on her face and could surely put one on anyone's face with her quick wit. My prayers and thoughts are with the family for their loss.

Pam was in our summer Art Class at Nazareth College in 1969. I'd thought, "WHO is this amazing person and what gives her that creative energy?" She was a pace-setter for all striving Art Ed.majors and the department itself 4 years and beyond(too many stories!) I was proud to have called her a friend of the most generous kind and to have been in the shadow of her bright spirit.She expressed her craft gifted by her talented parents and Life itself was her medium. Those honored to have known Pam in those formative years are SO thrilled she changed the face of Art Education, one smile/one kid at a time. Lucky Tampa--you had The Best! I never met Mrs. Heilig but, my Grandson Reno would tell me about her kindness and always had a smile when she spoke to him. Our deepest condolences to Pam's family.  We have so many fond memories of the time we shared with her at Jefferson High School.  Every day as we traveled to our classrooms, we passed by Pam's classroom.  We knew we could always count on her and she could always count on us.  Her humor gave us many days of hysterical laughter whether it was her stories, jokes, or impersonations.  Many of the posters and photos celebrating the accomplishments of the students and faculty were created by Pam and her students over the years at the school.  We will miss her for the rest of our lives and we feel honored to have called her our friend and colleague.  RIP Cutie.  It was ALWAYS YOU who was so Precious to all of us.

When I started teaching at Jefferson High School, Ms. Pam was one of the first people to make me feel a part of the Jefferson family. She always had something positive to say. Every morning I would pass her room and she would be outside her classroom with a smile on her face and words that always brightened my day! I am going to miss her morning pick me ups!

Pam was a ray of sunshine around the halls of Jefferson High School!  I'm sure she is doing her best to impersonate and cheer up all the other angels around her in heaven.  Rest in peace.....I will miss you!

Dear Bill and Mark and family
Pam was one of my freshman year roommates at Nazareth so many memories have come flooding back. We stll have the beautiful card she made with her art work and calligraphy when our son Sean was born and he turned 37 yesterday.  Our daughter Jenn  remembers the time we went to visit you in Tampa probably 34 years ago and Pam brought out a bunch of art supplies for her to use. Our hearts and prayers are with you.

I am so thankful for Pam's help with Children's Liturgy of the Word. I admired her generosity, kindness and humility. And my family and I always enjoyed seeing Pam with her adoring grandchildren at 9:00 Mass. We will miss her dearly.

A great loss to all of us at Jefferson High School. Pam's gifts of creativity and humor, and her profound love of teaching, are irreplaceable.

Pam and I attended high school together and I will always remember her quick wit and her ability to make everyone laugh. I am sure that heaven is rolling over with laughter right now. I am just sorry that we will no longer have her making us laugh.  RIP Pam.

 I will always cherish our high school senior year where Pam and her girlfriends met with me and my buddies at Lyntons every Saturday night...ate pizza drank beer (legal age was 18) and girlie drinks. Shared rides to Rochester when I worked there and she was at Nazareth. Remember so fondly how much fun we had.
She had a good heart and was loved by everyone. I always thought of her and these great times. She reminded me of my mom and her godmother Aunt Curley.

Pam and I grew up in New Hartford, NY, but we never knew each other,although we lived one street apart. We met at a gifted training back in the early 90's. She loved to tell the story of how we met, and how we had the same Mohawk Valley accent. Rest in peace, Pam. I will miss you, your sense of humor, your artistic talent and your kindness.

I knew Pam from the time I came to Tampa 24 years ago through my role as educator and school system liaison at the Tampa Museum of Art where I worked extensively with the art teachers, and I contracted her to use her considerable skills and talents to teach children's workshops and summer camps.  Pam was always warm, funny, hard-working, and the consummate art teacher who made all children feel special.  She herself was very special, always so humble and kind.
