Patricia (Trish) Anne O’Reilly passed away at the age of 56 on December 11, 2025 at The Melech Hospice House in Tampa Florida. For those who did not know Trish’s story, she struggled for years with mental illness and chronic pain. In time, due to her medical and mental hardships, she was declared disabled. In April 2024, she was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. She desperately wanted to live and fought hard through a long period of treatments, all the while displaying her fierce determination and hilarious sense of humor. Unfortunately, she experienced a bad fall a few days prior to her death and with her advanced cancer and weakened condition she was unable to survive.
Trish was born in Buffalo, New York. Her mother, Patricia Davis -Weeks, worked in hotel management. As a result, Trish and her family resided in several different states including Wisconsin, Maryland and Virginia. Trish and her mother finally settled in Tampa, Florida in 1984. Trish attended Leto High School in Tampa, Florida. Before disability changed her path, Trish poured her heart into caring for animals as a Veterinary Technician, serving clinics in both Tucson, Arizona and Tampa, Florida. Her life was filled with countless cats and dogs who basked in her boundless affection and lived like royalty while they spent their lives with her. She had a divided passion for both the Buffalo Bills and The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and enjoyed watching games every week.
Trish will be remembered as a vibrant spirit—wickedly smart, unapologetically opinionated, and blessed with a tremendous sense of humor. Even through years of pain and suffering, she embraced life with hope. Her courage in the face of adversity stands as a true testament to strength and hope. She was fiercely loyal to her family and friends and will always be known as someone who could make you laugh through the best and worst times.
She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel O’Reilly of Buffalo, New York, her beloved maternal grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Carminati, and cherished uncle Benjamin Franklin. She is survived by her mother, Pat Davis-Weeks of Tampa, Florida; her sister, Mary Beth O’Reilly (Georgine Muc) of Richmond, Virginia; and her uncle, David Carminati (Wendy Truesdale) of Grand Island New York, and her aunt, Bernie Franklin of Tucson Arizona. She also leaves behind cherished cousins—Dale Franklin (Martha Franklin), Ashley Misko (Dan Misko), and Casey Carminati—all of Grand Island, New York, Kristen Franklin (Richard Heap), Nancy Franklin-Hicks (Davin Hicks), all of Tucson, Arizona and her dear friends Martha Shunn-King of Sarasota Florida and Eileen Gannon of Richmond, Virginia and Monica Harrod of Tampa Florida. A private celebration of life will be held at a future date in Richmond,Virginia.
