Pearl June Evans, born on June 5, 1931, in Laurel, Delaware, passed away on August 20, 2024, in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 93. Pearl was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, whose life was marked by her unwavering love and devotion to her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Mae Prather; her grandson, Frank Prather; and her cherished great-grandson, Emerson, all of whom she held close to her heart. Pearl also leaves behind her brother, Howard L. (Jan) Davis, nephews, Mark (Sue) and Steve (Selena) Davis, and Bob (Milda) and David (Janie) Collins.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, George Dewey Evans Jr., with whom she will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery.
Pearl was a lifelong member of Manhattan Avenue United Methodist Church, where she was instrumental in coordinating their annual rummage sale and pumpkin patch for many years. Services to celebrate her life will be held at Palma Ceia Methodist Church, Thursday, September 19 at 11:30 am.
