

Peter John Fernandez, born on January 1, 1930, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026. Peter was a beloved father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather who touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Peter found great joy in family gatherings, playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and golfing. His warm and welcoming nature made his home a place of love and joy for all who entered.
Peter served in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a Petty Officer 2nd Class Quartermaster and was awarded the Purple Heart for his duty and sacrifice. Following his military service, he graduated from Tampa College with a degree in Business, worked as an accountant at Robert's Cigar Factory, then ran his own successful grocery and salvage business for over 60 years.
Peter was devoted to the Tampa Bay community. He served as a Major in the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Reserve II and was a 33rd degree Mason, member of the Egypt Temple Shrine, Scottish Rite, York Rite, and past Patron of the Eastern Star. Peter's kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to God and those around him made him a respected and admired member of the community.
Peter is survived by his son Peter Fernandez and his wife Jennifer; his daughter Cynthia Louder and her husband David; his granddaughter Ariana Newman and her husband Austin; his granddaughter Sierra Louder; and his great-grandchildren Lachlan and Petra. Peter’s legacy lives on through his family, who will always cherish his memory and the precious moments shared with him.
Peter John Fernandez will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, and may his spirit of generosity and compassion continue to inspire us all.
