Tagliarino, Phyllis R., 95, of Tampa, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Dec. 3. She was born Philomena Izzo in Buffalo, New York, one of 6 children of an Italian immigrant family. During WWII she was a riveter on war planes. She moved to Tampa in 1989. She was a talented artist, ceramist and chef and an avid Rummikub player. After her husband’s death in 1997, Phyllis gave her time as an usher for 5 years at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, where she enjoyed the Christmas party the best. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Frank. She is survived by 5 children, Salvatore A Tagliarino, Charles F Tagliarino, Anida P Bruce, Frank V Tagliarino, Jr., and Marian A Tagliarino; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, on Tuesday, Dec. 8 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tampa, FL; on Wednesday, Dec. 9.
