Ruth Leona Bettinger

Ruth Leona Bettinger passed away peacefully Friday, October 30, 2020 in Sun City Center, Florida at the age of 82. Ruth was born May 6, 1938 in Osgood, Ohio. She worked as an accounting supervisor at Ernst & Young’s Tampa office for 35 years. As a devout Catholic, she was an active member of Corpus Christi Parish in Temple Terrace and then Saint Anne’s Parish in Ruskin until her passing. While reading was her lifelong passion, she was also a devoted wife and mother who supported her two children throughout their scholastic and swimming careers by driving them to countless workouts during the week and supporting them at every swim meet on the weekends. She loved to socialize with Bob and her many friends and innumerable relatives throughout the Midwest and elsewhere. She had a quick wit, an incredible memory and enjoyed the lively and respectful exchange of ideas with others while always showing her infectious smile and genuine kindness. Ruth is predeceased by her husband, Bob, and son, Michael (“Mickey”), but is survived by her daughter, Carol Bettinger. Her funeral Mass is scheduled for May 21st, 2022 at 11:00am at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Ruskin, FL. Following her mass, there will be a subsequent burial next to her husband, Bob, at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens in Tampa, Florida.
