Sheldon Darley Ryan

Ryan, Sheldon Darley, 93, died peacefully in Tampa, Florida and entered Heaven, Sunday November 15, 2015. Sheldon was born on the island of Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands on August 27, 1922. He was a seaman with the U.S. Coast Guard/Merchant Marine serving over 12 years. He moved to Tampa, Florida in the early 1950’s and married Evelyn Irene Duke in 1953. He worked for the City of Tampa, retiring after 25 years of service. In retirement he became the owner of Sheldon Ryan Concrete Construction Company, which he operated for 25 additional years. He was a devoted loving husband, kind and caring father and grandfather who loved his family and his Lord and Savior dearly. He was preceded in death by his father James Scott Ryan and mother Evelina Malvina Foster Ryan; and a brother, James Algernon Ryan (Claudia). He is survived by Evelyn, his loving wife of 62 years; his sons, Don and Tim; daughter, Denise (Tom); grandchildren Sarah and Tommy; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will take place on Saturday, November 28, 2015 from 10AM to 11AM at Hillsdale Baptist Church , 6201 Ehrlich Road, Tampa, FL 33625. Funeral services will begin at 11AM at the church with burial to follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park in Tampa, FL at 1:30PM. Arrangements under the direction of Gonzalez Funeral Home, Tampa, FL.
