Susan "Marcia" Stead

Marcia attended Florida Southern College in 1958 and received her Associated of Arts from Webber College in 1962.

Marcia worked in New Orleans, LA, as an assistant buyer of children’s clothes for a major department store. She married Gerald Harrell Stead (deceased) on February 9th, 1963.

After marrying Jerry in Tampa, they moved to South Florida and she worked in the purchasing department at University of Miami’s Law School campus in Coral Gables, FL. She held multiple positions including scheduling, receptionist, and clerk at Tampa General Hospital, Tampa, FL.

Marcia was a member of Tampa’s Garden Club where she was the president for 2 years. She had a passion for interior design, crafts, and creating seashell mirrors. Her humorous wit was enjoyed by everyone who met her.

She is survived by Gregory R. Stead, Glenn N. Stead, his fiance Diana Alter, Gary Y. Stead, and his wife Melissa Stead, and granddaughter Savannah R. Stead.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on February 21, 2026, from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Blount & Curry Funeral Home-MacDill Avenue, located at 605 S MacDill Ave, in the Speakeasy room. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00pm. A Catered Reception will conclude the events from 4-6:00pm.
