

Suzanne J. Lewis (nee Johnson), beloved wife, mother, and community volunteer, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, in Tampa, FL, at the age of 99. She was born on February 27, 1926, in Madison, Wisconsin.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Raymond B. Lewis Jr., a World War II veteran and Purple Heart recipient, who passed away in 1998. Raymond served his country with distinction, and both were active members of Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church in Tampa. The family relocated from Madison, Wisconsin, to the Chicagoland area, living in Evanston and later Hinsdale, IL, before eventually settling in Tampa, FL.
Suzanne is survived by her three children: Charles Lewis (Joan), Catherine Moore (Stan), Julie Brown (Ron), six grandchildren: Jessica Jacob, Brit Lewis (Caroline), Elizabeth Wrona (Tim), Alex Brown (Megan), Jonathan Lewis, Ashley Calvin (Kyle), and 7 great grandchildren Jacqueline Jacob, Brit Lewis, Charlotte Lewis, George Jacob, Mackinley Brown, Mary Collins Brown, and Theo Wrona.
Suzanne was devoted to her family and the greater good of humanity. She joined the KAPPA KAPPA GAMMA sorority while attending the University of Wisconsin, and remained an active alumni member throughout her life. She was also an active member of the church and a volunteer at the Starz Center for the Performing Arts and the Tampa Convention Center for over 25 years. Her commitment to service and the arts reflected her generous spirit and desire to enrich the cultural life of her community. In her freetime she was an avid bridge player with her dear friends.
An active and athletic woman throughout her life, Suzanne was an avid golfer and tennis player. She enjoyed membership at a Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club where she pursued these passions with enthusiasm and grace evidenced by her accomplishment as the winner of the prestigious Jackie Hochberg Memorial Golf Tournament in 1993.
Suzanne lived a remarkable life spanning nearly a century, witnessing extraordinary historical changes while maintaining steadfast devotion to her family, faith, and community. Her legacy of service, dedication to the arts, and love of life will be remembered by all who knew her.
Services will be held on January 10, 2025 at Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church in Tampa, Florida.
