Tamsen Anderson Williams, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend died peacefully surrounded by family after battling several health conditions on June 5th, 2026, in Tampa, Florida. She was 86 years young.
Tamsen was born on July 15, 1939, in St. Peterburg, FL to Dr. Clyde Oscar Anderson and Eileen Scott Masters. She grew up in St. Petersburg and graduated from St. Petersburg High in 1956.
Tamsen worked in her father’s medical office, flew small airplanes and sang professionally.
Tamsen met her husband, Captain Andrew Sterling Williams, as a working volunteer for the Red Cross at MacDill Air Force Base. They were married on September 7, 1966, in St Petersburg at Pasadena Community Church. They were married for 56 years.
Tamsen was a dedicated and loving mother and an excellent cook. She helped publish two cookbooks with her mother Eileen Anderson: “The Masters Touch” and “Let’s Have a Party”. She was active member of St John’s Episcopal Church and the Tampa Yacht and Country Club.
Tamsen loved College Football. She was an avid Gator Fan! She enjoyed going to UF games with her husband and longtime friends Sandy and James Cooney. She enjoyed traveling, especially cruising.
Tamsen is survived by her children, Kathleen (Michael) Purdy and Eileen (Ariel) Pineiro; her five beloved grandchildren Sterling and Peyton Purdy and Ethan, Olivia and Giuliana Pineiro.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, July 8th. at St. John’s Episcopal Church (906 S Orleans Ave Tampa, FL 33606). Afterwards, a Celebration of Life with refreshments will be held at Blount & Curry Life Event Center in the Speakeasy (605 S MacDill Ave, Tampa Fl 33609).
