

Troy Anderson Brown Jr., a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 10th, 2024, surrounded by family and close friends. A Tampa native, he was born on July 7th, 1934, to Troy Anderson and Valerie Aldona (Mohler) Brown, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jean Thompson Brown, with whom he shared 50 years and 7 months of marriage, and his son, Troy A. Brown III.
Troy is survived by his two sons, G. Albert Brown (Elizabeth Hildenstein) and Douglas A. Brown (Laura), and his adored grandchildren, Caroline Jean and Joy Susanne Brown.
In addition to his role as the executive of Raybro Electric Supplies from 1960 to 1999, Troy was a distinguished businessman, with a law degree. Yet his unwavering dedication to his family, coupled with his integrity, character, and commitment to service, earned him deep admiration and respect from all who knew him.
Troy Anderson Brown Jr. earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University in 1956 and went on to achieve his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1959. He Also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves from 1959-1960.
Troy’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched throughout his remarkable 90 years.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday August 24, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church, 3501 W San Jose St, Tampa, Florida. A reception will follow the service, where friends and family can gather to celebrate Troy’s life and legacy immediately after the service, at Blount & Curry, 605 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, Florida.
Troy will be laid to rest at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park alongside his wife Jean, on Sunday, August 25th, 2024 with a private family committal service.
