SCOTT, William Cleland, 84, of Tampa passed away om Sept 28, 2019. He was born on January 27, 1935 in Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Lorene (Ryan) Scott; children, Katina Scott and fiance Ross Lageose and Bronson Scott and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Daniel Ruiz, Emilio Ruiz, Cole Scott, and Porter Scott; and many other extended family members and friends. He was known to his island family and friends as "Kippy". He was a longtime seaman that worked many jobs on many ships. His runs included travels to Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, and so many other places. He retired as a merchant marine having spent over 20 years working on oil tankers for Texaco. When not at sea he could be found under the hood of a car or building the next diy project. He was a fiercely dedicated family man, not only to his immediate but to his extended as well. He was and had many dedicated and loyal friends. Some from all corners of the world. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. His presence will truly be missed by all.
