

Carolyn was born on April 24, 1944 to Edward F. Schiller and Hilda Remmert Schiller at Stromberg Hospital in Taylor, Texas. She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale, Texas on May 14, 1944 and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith on March 30, 1958, also at St. Paul in Thorndale. Carolyn attended schools in Hare, Texas, St. Paul Lutheran School in Thorndale, Texas and graduated from Thrall High School in Thrall, Texas. She was employed at Thrall ISD from 1972 until 1992 then Taylor ISD until she retired.
Carolyn met the love of her life on her birthday in 1964 and after a whirlwind courtship married Wayne William Ging on September 19, 1964, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale, Texas. Wayne and Carolyn welcomed two sons into their lives, Brit Wade and Wayne William Ging, Jr.
Carolyn is survived by her sons, Brit W. Ging and wife Teresa and Wayne W. Ging Jr., and wife Cara. Grandchildren Garet Ging and wife Olivia, Chance Ging and wife Michaela, Courtney Buttles and husband Derek and Dylan Ging and wife Stephanie. She was blessed with ten great-grandchildren, Caroline, Allison and Evelyn Ging, Scarlett and Elijah Ging, Colt, Kennedy and Conway Buttles and Hudson and Dylan Ging, Jr. Sisters-in-law Jo Ann Ging, Lena Ging and Linda Hickman and brother-in-law Michael Ging, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne W. Ging, Sr., parents Edward and Hilda Schiller, parents-in-law Ewald and Gladys Ging, brothers-in-law Ewald (Butch) Ging, Jr., David Ging and Donald Dyer, sister-in-law Carol Dyer and nephew Alan Ging.
Carolyn carried the values of faith, family and love throughout her life. She was known for her loving heart, gentle sprit and unwavering devotion to those she cared about. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and watching her great grandchildren grow. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she cherished so deeply.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 5-7 pm at Providence Funeral home in Taylor, Texas. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 29, 2026, at 10 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Thorndale, Texas. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery.
