Martha Huff, a devoted Catholic, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, was called home to the Lord surrounded by the love of her family on June 27, 2026, at the age of 97.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Joe Huff; her parents, August and Annie Svehlak; and nine of her cherished brothers and sisters, Jody, August, Annie, Dorothy, Lillian, Vlasta, Mary, Agnes and Louis.
Martha is survived by her loving children: John Huff and his wife Linda of Grand Prairie, TX; Al Huff and his wife Portia of Grapevine, TX; Barbara Huff Williams of Azle, TX; and Darwin Huff and his wife Cindy of Washington, OK. Her beautiful legacy lives on through her 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her last remaining sibling, her sister Alice, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments: polka dancing, tending to her garden, cooking for those she loved, and gathering with family whenever she could. She was also a lifelong fan of I Love Lucy, often sharing its humor with those around her. One of the moments that always brought her joy was the classic catchphrase “Lucy, I’m home.” In her heart and in her family’s memories, it now becomes something even more meaningful: “John, I’m home.”
The rosary will be recited at 12:30 PM on Friday, July 10, at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 100 N. Brazos Street, Granger, TX 76530, followed immediately by the Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in memory of Martha Huff at AFA Donation Link.
