Walter "White Rabbit" Ray Ruemke

Born on January 23, 1949 in the home to Harry and Elizabeth (Berg) Ruemke in Bartlett.

He was a lifetime residence of Granger. He drove semi trucks for over 40 years.

He was proceeded in death by his wife of 54 years, Charlene (Jackson) Ruemke, his parents and one brother.

He is survived by his son Randy (Holly) Ruemke of Granger. One daughter Sherry (John) McGrew of South Carolina, twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one on the way. Two sisters, Rita (Wal) Sarerse of Temple and Carolyn (Dale) Davis of Bartlett, two brothers, Curtis (Sandra) Ruemke of Taylor and Lee (Patti) Ruemke of Taylor.

Walter loved playing dominoes with Frank Hajda, Dennis Bartosh, Donald Janke, David Kerlin, Johnny Vrana at the pit stop in Granger owned by Shannon and Kelly Alsbury. Thanks to Mike Vrana for allowing us to play there for many years.

Walter was a faithful member of Granger Worship Center. He and his wife were the first members of our church. He always kept the yard mowed and looking nice.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion #183 in Bartlett, Texas, 300 W. Bell St. on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
