Albert Thomas, age 82 of Temple, died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, May 20, 2013 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Matus officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 3-5:00 PM Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the funeral home. Albert was born on March 29, 1931 in Temple, Texas to the late Dennis Thomas and Augusta Haden Thomas. He attended schools in Temple and graduated from Temple High School. Albert married Betty Wall in Oklahoma and she preceded him in death on November 24, 1995. Albert proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines and was honorably discharged in 1954. He owned and operated Thomas Glass and Mirror in Temple for many years and was a member of the First Christian Church. Albert was preceded in death by his wife, his son and two brothers. Survivors include his brother, Dan Thomas of Killeen; a special friend, Christine Bulls of Temple, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
