Alice was born on March 5, 1949, to Jesse and Peggy Cook in El Paso, and graduated from Temple High School and attended Temple College.
She was a member of the 7th Street United Methodist Church in Temple and worked at King’s Daughters Hospital as Director of Volunteer Services before retiring.
Alice was an accomplished artist with a love of flowers and gardening, and a lifelong affection for cats. She authored a book about one of her cats, Bella’s Dreams.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Ted Garcia; sons, Gabe Garcia and wife Elissa of Temple, and Eric Garcia and wife Sarah McKiddy of Seattle; two granddaughters, Julia and Gabby; and sisters, Peggy Dillard of Belton and Sally Vaughan of Temple.
Mrs. Garcia was cremated. A private family burial will take place in Temple.
