Anna Ohlson Rodgers

Anna Ohlson Rodgers, age 96 of Temple, died Sunday, May 5, 2013 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 11 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Brett Rodgers officiating. Private entombment will be at Bellwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Rodgers was born August 2, 1916 in Taylor to Hilda and Gustaf Ohlson. Her family came to this country from Sweden in 1901 and settled in Taylor. Ann was the youngest of nine children. She married her high school sweetheart, John Rodgers, in 1935. She loved to travel and toured many countries, including Italy, France, Greece, Belgium, Egypt and Sweden. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Jim and sisters, Hildur, Lilly, Ada, Emmy and Elizabeth and brothers, Carl, Bertil and August and great-niece, Jana. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Rodgers of Temple, grandchildren, Scott of Dallas, Brett and wife, Teresa of Austin, Keith and wife, Kelly of Lubbock and great-grandchildren, Zack, Blake, Bella, Kate and Ford. Also surviving is daughter-in-law, Betty Rodgers of Temple and many great nieces and nephews.
