

Annette Ruth Chlapek Wolfe, age 78 of Temple, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Seaton Brethren Church with Rev. Denise Mikeska and Rev. Joe Emerson officiating. Burial will follow at Seaton National Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 10:00-11:00am prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Wolfe will lie in state Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wolfe was born on June 20, 1940 in Temple, Texas to the late Edward A. Chlapek and Julia Jez Chlapek. She attended Temple schools and graduated from Temple High School in 1958. She later attended Durham’s Business School. Annette married Donald Earl Wolfe in Temple, Texas on December 10, 1966. Mr. Wolfe preceded her in death on June 26, 2003. Annette worked for the SPJST office, Farmers Home Administration and later for the Soil Conservation Service, and retired in January 1999 with over 30 years of federal service. She was a lifetime member of Seaton Brethren Church and served on the Board of Elders and was also a longtime member of the Christian Sisters. She was also a Sunday school teacher, nursery attendant, church secretary, VBS helper and volunteered in many other areas of the church. She was very caring of her family, especially when she lovingly cared for her husband for many years. Annette loved gospel music and attended many concerts with her brother and sister-in-law. She loved reading, sewing clothes for her family, making bunnies as well as making clothes for the bunnies and loved baking cakes and brownies for church events or meals. She loved shopping and enjoyed her home and always loved decorating her home for the holidays. Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Julia Chlapek and by her husband, Donald E. Wolfe.
Survivors include one brother, Edward L. Chlapek and wife Martha of Temple; two sisters, her twin, Jan Huber and husband Earl of Salado and Irene Marek and husband Ed of Temple, numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and many friends.
