Born in San Marcos to Dean and Sharon Dunning and raised in Salado, Anthony was a proud Salado native whose youthful spirit left a lasting mark on everyone he met.
Anthony was devoted to his family above all else. His children were his greatest joy, and his family was his entire world. His friends were lifelong, drawn to his loyal heart, sense of humor, and generous spirit. Anthony would give his last dollar to someone in need and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
Anthony had a passion for all sports; there wasn’t a season or a day that went by without a game on. He loved his Cowboys and Longhorns, and most of all, having his people around. Nothing made him happier than a full house, laughter in the air, and a chance to be the life of the gathering.
He was his daughter Alexus’s first love, best friend, and partner in crime. He was a proud father to his son Logan and cherished his role as “Pappy” to his granddaughters, Penny and Piper. He was also affectionately referred to as "Boss" by the littles in his life, pouring love and lessons into them every chance he could.
He was a devoted brother to his sister, Shelly, and a fierce protector who loved her dearly. Their bond was one of loyalty, laughter, and unconditional love.
He was also a gentle and loving son – a true mama’s boy. His mother, Sharon, held the highest place in his heart, and his love for her was unwavering.
Anthony is survived by his daughter, Alexus Dunning; his son, Logan Dunning, and Logan’s wife, Brynne Dunning; his beloved granddaughters, Penny and Piper Dunning; his sister, Shelly Cumby; and his mother, Sharon Dunning.
Anthony’s legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
A casual celebration of life to honor Anthony will be held at Scanio Harper Funeral Home, 3110 Airport Road Temple, Texas on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at 10:00am.
