Barbara Presley Wood, age 79, of Temple, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at a local hospital. She was born on January 20, 1942 in Little River, Texas the daughter of Dorman and Violet (Hagler) Jones. She was a 1960 graduate of Academy High School where she was a cheerleader and excelled in basketball.
She married David Presley, her high school sweetheart, in May of 1961. They were married for 25 years until his death in 1985. She met Frankie Wood in 1992 and they married in 1994. The remained happily married for 27 years until is death on July 30, 2021.
Barbara was the best mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend that anyone could have ever wished for. She was always very vocal at her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and loved to watch the Texas Longhorns.
A visitation will take place on Sunday, September 5, 2021 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, 3110 Airport Rd. Temple, Texas 76504.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 6, 2021 at 10:00am at the funeral home followed by burial at Wilson Valley Cemetery in Little River-Academy.
Barbara retired after 34 years with Scott and White in Temple as a Neurology Technician.
She is survived by her children, Robin Mogavero and husband Butch, David Presley and wife Glenda, and step-son Jason Wood and wife Anna Castillo, grandchildren, Seana Mogavero and fiancé Steven Boggess, Seth Mogavero and his wife Jennifer, Delaney, Shane, and Aaron Presley,Tamara Schonberg and her husband Kyle, great grandchildren, , Knox and Kollyns Mogavero, soon to be grandson Stetson Boggess, Odin and Jackson Schonberg and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands David Presley and Frankie Wood, parents Dorman and Violet Jones, and brothers Eugene Jones and Billy Ray Jones.
