

Graveside services will be held September 20 at 2:00 P.M. at the Happy Cemetery in Happy, Texas. Mr. Fowler passed from this life August 2, 2013 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, TX. He was born October 23, 1926 in Fannin County to James and Minnie Mae Nolen Fowler, the 5th of six children. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Philippines. He married Jean Savage in Leonard, TX, in 1947. He moved to Lockney, TX in Floyd County in 1950 and resided there 14 years. He bought land in Swisher County and moved there in 1964 where he farmed and ranched for 46 years. He was a Methodist and Choir member for many years. He loved singing hymns. He was active in the Meals on Wheels program in Tulia where he delivered meals for several years. To be close to his children, he moved to Temple in 2010. Survivors include his wife Jean of the home; daughter, Donna (Al) Estep of Belton, TX; son Alan of Rowlett; sister, Evelyn Garrett of Leonard; brother, E.J. Fowler of Grand Prairie; grandsons Rex Bryan of Round Rock, TX, and Chuck Bryan of Dallas. Six great grandchildren, Alyssa and Austin of Round Rock; Noah, Madison, Emma and Samuel of Saginaw, TX; five nephews and 2 nieces. Buck was preceded in death by daughter, Cathy; sister, Eddy Douglas; brothers, Troy Fowler and E.T. Fowler, and his parents. Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
