Funeral services for Becky Bradshaw Rose will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with the Reverend Gary DeSalvo officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday evening at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Becky went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ Tuesday at her house in Temple, Texas. She was born on February 25, 1947, in Jackson, Mississippi to Lavell Opel Bradshaw and Rachel (Becky) Addkison Bradshaw. She graduated from Provine High School in 1965. In 1968, she graduated from Belhaven College, where she received the Trustee's Award for Outstanding Student. On July 26, 1969, she married Robert Tillman Rose at Central Presbyterian Church in Jackson, Mississippi. Robert and Becky moved to Austin, Texas in 1970 to attend the University of Texas. In 1973, they moved to Temple, Texas, where she created a loving, Christ centered home for her husband and their two children, Brad and Becky. She taught school for over thirty years at St. Mary's Catholic School, in Temple, and Killeen High School. She had great satisfaction in teaching and helping students. Her favorite subject to teach was Latin, and Roman history was also a hobby of hers. Starting in 2001, during spring break, Becky began escorting students and teachers to Italy to experience the wonders of the Roman Empire. This was an annual excursion in which she delighted. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her three grandkids. At a young age, Becky trusted her life to Jesus as her Lord and Savior, and throughout her life, she continued to love and serve her Lord. For those who knew Becky, her life reflected Christ's love, His humility, and His obedience. Her father, mother, and her father-in-law, Tillman Rose, preceded Becky in death. Survivors include her husband Robert Rose, a daughter Becky Rose Kersh and her husband Damon Kyle Kersh of Plano; a son Robert Bradshaw Rose and his wife Kristi Gommert Rose, and their three children, Jeffrey Bradshaw Rose, Ty Caedman Rose and Breleigh Michelle-Montyne Rose, all of Houston; a sister Kathryn Ann Huff and her husband James Huff of Jackson, Mississippi; a brother Lavell Opel Bradshaw and his wife Linda Bradshaw of Brandon, Mississippi and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
