

Bettie Grace Briggs Watson arrived in this world to Willie Mae & Felix Bullion on October 9, 1927 and departed this life into the arms of her Heavenly Father on February 7, 2021. She was later in life gifted with another father, Clyde Roberts, who shaped her life with his Christian values and love of education.
Bettie had five younger siblings who she became a Mother figure to and is survived by Mamie Pannel of Lewisville, Clara Stromquist of Brady, Delbert & Carolynd Roberts of Junction and David & Loretta Bullion of Bownwood.
Bettie was baptized at the age of 15, along with her Daddy Clyde, in a concrete tank at their ranch in Eldorado. She became a member of the Church of Christ and was faithful in her Christian beliefs and church for the rest of her life.
Graduating from Eldorado High School in the mid 40’s, Bettie went on to Texas State College For Women in Denton, TX. Being an avid reader and having a great love of libraries, she graduated on August 22, 1952 with her Masters in Library Science. She then spent the next 6 years in Ft. Stockton as their school librarian; later moving to Odessa where she retired after 25 years as the San Jacinto school librarian.
In December of 1956, at the age of 29, Bettie married Corky Watson in Houston, TX. They were married 32 years until his death. Twelve years later she married Cecil Briggs until his death 5 years later.
Bettie took up bowling in her college years and continued thru her 80’s. She loved the adventure of traveling and meeting new people. We will miss her enthusiasm for life and her love of laughter.
Bettie leaves wonderful memories behind for numerous nieces and nephews: Tammie Jones, Brad Roberts, Brook & Jessica Roberts, Debbie Genova, Donna Lester, Dixie & Chris Peeble, Toni Capps, Rance & Krista Roberts, Kendon and Jana Roberts and 8 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be family only on February 19th at 11:00 AM in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, TX
