Betty Eakin

Graveside services for Betty Jean Eakin, 79, of Temple, Texas will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday March 3, 2007 at Savanna Cemetery in Savanna, Oklahoma. Visitation will be from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Friday at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home in McAlester, Oklahoma. Mrs. Eakin died Monday in a Temple Nursing Home. She was born in Zeigler, Illinois to John Koprovic and Sarah Teeters Koprovic. She was raised in McAlester and Savanna, Oklahoma. She graduated from Savanna High School. She was a housewife and had lived in McAlester Savanna, San Antonio, Okinawa, Germany and San Angelo before moving to Temple. She married Jerell W. West June 14, 1947. She then married Robert A. Eakin June, 6, 1955. Pallbearers will be Lee Smith, Shane Herrera, John Hamrick, David Reasoner, Tim Underwood and Dennis Davidson. Survivors include two daughters Ravis Smith and Eleanor Herrera both of Temple; two sons Robert Eakin Jr. of Illinois and Tom Eakin of San Antonio,Texas, one sister Mary Belcher of Krum, Texas, seven grandchildren Michelle Redman, Carolyn Hamrick, Phillip Herrera, Shane Herrera, Regina Reasoner, Megan Eakin and Joshua Eakin, eleven great grandchildren Brandon Smith, Aliyah Bland, Savannah Herrera, Leandra Herrera, Kathryne Herrera, Avery Herrera, Phillip Herrera, Brianna Redman, Makayla Hamrick, Rylan Reasoner and Haley Hamrick.
