Bobby Joe Baker, 67, of Lometa, Texas died Saturday, May 24, 2008 in a Temple hospital. Private family services will be at a later date. Mr. Baker was born September 11, 1940 in Sabinal, Texas to Newton Green and Sylvia Gabrysch Baker. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam and the Gulf War. After retiring from the Army he worked for the United States Government. Survivors include his wife, Yolande Baker of Lometa; one daughter, Fern Powers of West; two sons, Newton R. Baker of Channelview, Texas and Robert J. Baker of Yoakum, Texas; twelve grandchildren.
