Bobby Joe Stephens

Robert Joseph Bobby Joe' Stephens, age 75 of Temple, died Friday April 8, 2011 at his residence. Funerals services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, April 11, 2011 at Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Henderson and Rev. Billy Koinm officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 4-6:00 PM Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Stephens was born on January 30, 1936 in Temple, Texas to the late William Carroll Stephens and Edith Margaret Smith Stephens. He graduated from Temple High School in 1954 and attended North Texas State University. He married Margaret Kathryn Wylie on May 18, 1957. Bobby Joe was a life insurance salesman for 15 years and was a corporate trainer for the 7-11 Corporation, retiring in 1993. He was a lifetime member of Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Wylie Stephens in 2001; a brother, a sister. Survivors include daughters, Barbara Jean Golder and Dianna Grant, both of Temple; and Myra Stephens of Moody; sisters, Margaret Pagel of Temple, Carroll Coleman of Houston and Myra Lee Parrott of Plano; six grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to New Century Hospice of Central Texas, 451 E. Central Texas Expressway, Suite C, Harker Heights, TX 76548 or to Heights Baptist Church, 1220 South 49th Street, Temple, TX 76504.
