Bobby Lee Thomas

Bobby Lee Thomas, age 67, of Temple died Thursday, May 17, 2007 at his residence. Services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, May 19, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Gary DeSalvo officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Bob Thomas was born May 31, 1939, in Fort Worth to Robert and Stella Mae Thomas. He married Rebecca Ann Pope April 14, 1958. They have four children and 12 grandchildren. They recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary. Bob retired in 2006 after 50 years of working road construction as a job superintendent. He loved playing cards and dominoes and was a sports fanatic. He loved his grandchildren and his time with them. His family and friends were his passion. He is survived by his wife Becky, his mother, Stella Mae Thomas of Alvarado, sons Ronny Thomas and wife Vicki of Vermont, David Thomas and wife Jodi of Temple, daughters Debbie Polta and husband Karl of Troy, and Tammy Fredrick of Troy, grandchildren Brandon, Nathan, and Taylor Thomas of Temple, Dana, Shannon, and Kristoffer Thomas of Vermont, Josh and Jennifer Fredrick of Troy, Angela Sitz of San Marcos, Andrea Elliott of Buckholts, Kaci Polta of Killeen, and Krista Batchko of New York. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren and two brothers, Ray Thomas of Fort Worth and Robert Thomas of Alvarado. Pallbearers will be Brandon Thomas, Nathan Thomas, David Thomas, Josh Fredrick, Daniel Castillo, and Brad Bennett. Memorials may be made to Scott and White Hospice.
