Buddie Charles Varner

Buddie "Bud" Charles Varner Buddie "Bud" Charles Varner, 57 of Temple, Texas, departed this life Sunday evening, June 28, 2009, after a lengthy illness. A memorial service will be held Wednesday July 1, 2009, at 10:00 AM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Reverend Ardene Wuthrich officiating. Bud was born July 14, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa to Buddie and Rose Riccio Varner. He moved to Ankeny, Iowa with his family and attended public schools. He graduated from Ankeny Community High School in 1970. He worked for Chicago Northwestern Railroad in1968 and Meredith Publishing Company as a packer in 1969. From 1970 to1972 Bud served in the U.S. Army as an operating room technician. He served as sales manager from Flynn Shoes, Raifords, Genesco, Eidson Brothers, Gordon's Jewelers, Leon's, and Kruger Jewelers between 1972 and 1987. In 1991, Bud married Amy Pagel of Temple. In 1993 he joined her family and worked at Temple Floral Company. He was employed by Scott & White Hospital as a Material Management Technician until his early retirement in 2002. Bud was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Amy Pagel Varner of Temple, a brother Frank Varner of California, a sister Renee Weyer and husband Jeff of Kansas City, Missouri, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
