Buford Douglas (Doug) Crowe

Services for Buford Douglas (Doug) Crowe, age 55, of Temple will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 30 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Dr. Martin Knox officiating. Burial will follow at Moffat Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 29, at the funeral home. Mr. Crowe died Sunday, September 26, 2010 at his home in Temple, after a long illness. Doug was raised in Lexington, Kentucky and graduated from Bryan Station High School and attended Columbia College in Tennessee. He was retired from Wear Radio in Temple. He was preceded in death by his father, Buford D. Crowe, stepfather, Robert C. Ballard, a niece, Ashley Taft and grandparents, R. D. and Margaret Prewitt. Survivors include his mother, Margaret Prewitt Ballard of Temple, daughter, Wendy Crowe and son, Andrew Crowe both of Temple, three sisters, Cindy Taft and husband, Jerry of Temple, Regina Butler and husband, Billy of Kentucky, Sherry Whittmus and husband, Martin of Missouri and a nephew, Christopher Taft and wife, Jonna of McKinney. Also surviving are two great-aunts, Jenny Alloway and husband, Alan of Round Rock, Sue House and husband, Steve of Kentucky and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial donations may be made to VistaCare Hospice.
