C. C. Dickson, Jr.

C. C. Dickson, Jr., age 89 of Temple, died Friday, January 23, 2015 at a local care center. Services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home after the service. Mr. Dickson was born on November 26, 1925 in Temple, Texas to the late Clinton Calvin Dickson, Sr. and Mary Clements Dickson. Mr. Dickson attended schools in Temple and graduated from Temple High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served in the Pacific theater on the USS Oliver Mitchell and was later honorably discharged. He married Lore Ritter on June 13, 1964 in Temple and lived the last 50 years of his life in the Temple. Mr. Dickson owned and operated various businesses in the Temple area. He loved traveling, his family and all of his cats. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Lore Dickson of Temple; daughters, Debbie Dickson Parsley and husband Ken of Canton, Georgia and Dana Dickson Moore and husband Mike of Morgan's Point Resort; nieces, Dr. Cathy Allen of Kyle and Ms. Martha Allen of Bandera; nephew, Robert Black and wife Martha; grandchildren, Christopher Parsley, Travis Moore and Wesley Moore. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in C.C.'s name to a favorite humane society or to the charity of your choice.
